ClubLink Golf Memberships
Greater Sun City Center

Memberships in the golf courses will run on an annual basis ending on October 31st each year. That means annual membership costs billed in January, 2011, will cover only 10 months so memberships will end on October 31, 2011.

Each of the former WCI golf courses has been assigned a level of membership rangingfrom Renaissance as a Championship “Platinum Golf Club”, to Scepter as a “Gold Golf Club”, Falcon Watch and Sandpiper as “Silver Golf Clubs”, & the two executive courses as “Academy Golf Clubs”.

Costs of membership are based on those designations; members of a higher-level Club can play on the lower-level courses, and there are provisions for upgrades for those signing on at the lower levels for their “home course”. Members in each golf club can reserve tee times at their home course up to 7 days in advance.

There are no plans by ClubLink at this time to renovate the North Lakes Golf Course property, but they said they will be mowing and otherwise maintaining it in accordance with the agreement with the Community Association. The Golf and Racquet Club will continue as it is now, but there are no plans to reopen the pool, tennis courts, or restaurant. The spokesman said all those topics are under review.

People who are now members of the golf courses will not be charged a new initiation fee under the new plan. Residents in the Renaissance area should recognize that their agreement regarding membership in the Renaissance Club runs with the land and so is in effect with ClubLink the same as it was with WCI.

ClubLink expects to expand in this central Florida area. They point out they make more money when they can offer multiple golf courses to their members, and they said that their business is selling memberships, not just owning golf courses. They said that their main goal is to keep their members happy so they will continue as paid members.

All members now have until November 9th to select a golf course as their “Home Course”. As pointed out above, one’s home course determines the cost and privilege level of membership in ClubLink. ClubLink’s main office will continue to be in the Renaissance Clubhouse.

As of January 1, 2011, only Club Renaissance will be available for public use. All other courses will be member-only courses. For more information on ClubLink’s ownership of these 7 golf courses, go to this website: http://en.clublink.ca/golf/florida
